Biography of Founder

At the age of five, Hanshi Jay M. Brave Wolf embarked on his martial arts journey. He began training with Grand Master, Isamu Yamamoto, a 10th degree Black Belt of Japan. Throughout his 45 plus years of training, his lineage included respected instructors  such as Owen Watson, Frank Ruiz, Gerald Orange, Charles Farley, Leo Powers, My Lau Ling, Tommy Wang, Cleophus Jacobs, Richard Kim, Kenji Sato and obtained his 9th degree from Obata Shioda. Hanshi Brave Wolf was an apprentice under Yamamoto Sensei for more then 31 years and it was under Sensei's guide that he went on to train in Japan  at the Shorinji Monastery for 4 1/2 years. Through much dedication he became a skilled and well respected martial artist, who taught many in his own Dojo's in Japan and USA, as well as through private instruction. It is Hanshi Brave Wolf's belief that to master one's self, training should be an integral part of your daily life. Currently, Hanshi Brave Wolf is offering classes in Manhattan, which include an intensive training in Niten Senki Ryu, as well as weapons training in addition to other styles. His classes provide each student with a balance and discipline of the body, mind and spirit.
